Aloo sadheko

Introduction

My aunt back home makes "aloo" (potatoes) so yummy that I can still feel the taste in my tastebuds. Yes, it's that yummy. And today, my mom made this dish for us, and I am so happy to share this with you. Hope you like it!
Aloo Sadheko

Ingredients Needed

  • White Potatoes - 2 (You can use red or white depending what you like)
  • Red Onion - 1/4 cup (diced)
  • Green Chillies - 2 (diced)
  • Cilantro leaves to garnish
  • Salt
  • Chili powder
  • Coriander Powder
  • Turmeric Powder
  • Mustard Oil
  • Fenugreek Seeds (Methi)

Steps to follow

In a pressure cooker, add potatoes and little water. Add some salt and turmeric powder and cook in a medium heat.

Once the potatoes are cooked, peel the skin and cut into halves.

In a bowl, add the potatoes, diced red onions and cilantro leaves. Add salt, chili powder and coriander powder to taste. Add half a teaspoon of Mustard oil and mix all the spices.

In a small pan, heat mustard oil and add fenugreek seeds (methi) until it turns black.

Spread the turmeric powder on the top of the mixture and add the heated oil on top of it and mix well.
Aloo sadheko is ready.
