Jhol Momo

Introduction Momo aka meat/veg dumplings - who doesn't love it? I guess everyone does. Everyone has their own way of making this delicious dish. After few trial and errors, me and my sister-in-law came up with this recipe and would love to share it with you so you can enjoy the same way we did. During my recent trip to Nepal, I got a chance to taste this delicious dish in one of the restaurants, and instantly I fell in love with it. Below is the recipe which shows the recipe for this dish and hope you will enjoy it! Makes about 4-5 servings Jhol Momo Ingredients Needed Stuffing: Ground Turkey - 1.3 lbs Medium Yellow Onion - 1 Chopped Cilantro - 1/2 cup Chopped Ginger - 1 tbsp Ghee / Liquified butter - 1 tbsp Salt and Cumin powder to taste Dough: Maida / All Purpose Flour - 2 cups Pinch of salt Vegetable Oil - 2 tsp Water as needed Sauce: Tomatoes - 1 (cut into halves) Soybean seeds - 1/3 cup (can use yellow or black ones) Brown Sesame see

Aloo ko Achar (Potato Pickle)

Introduction Aloo Achar (Potato Salad) - yumm! It's so delicious that whenever you think of it, you want to make it in order to fill your craving! Also, it is one of the dish that you have during festivals but again it's one of the staple dish when you think of having chuira (pronounced as "chyu-raa") or beaten rice. The recipe is same as that of Karela Achar (Bitterground Pickle) as listed in my last blog post. The only difference would be Cucumbers instead of Karela. Most people have their own way of making this dish. If you have carrots and radishes or Daikon, you can use them as well. If you do not have small Kerau, you can use frozen peas as well. In this case, I forgot to soak Small Kerau overnight, so have used frozen peas. Below is the recipe and I hope you will like it! Introduction Malpua - yes, so yummy even when you just think about it. Malpua and hot tea early in the morning - how amazing is that? I remember my Nini (dad's sister) used to bring malpua whenever she used to visit us. We loved it! Indeed, fond memories down the lane. My mom made it for us recently and thought to share with you. Few of our friends have asked for the recipe. Here it is and hope you like it! Makes about 42 malpuas Yummy Malpuas Ingredients Needed All Purpose Flour - 2 cups Sooji - 1 cup Wheat Flour - 1.5 cup Shredded Cononut - 1 cup Sugar - 2 cups Fennel Seeds - 2 tbsp Cardamom Powder - 2 tsp Ghee - 1/3 cup Water - 700ml (~3 cups) Vegetable oil to fry Optional: Black Pepper to taste Steps to follow Add all the ingredients together in a bowl. Gundruk ko Jhol

Introduction "Gundruk ko Jhol" is definitely one of my fave. Recently, at one of my friend's gathering, she had made yummy gundruk and hence its existence came upon on this blog as it has been a long time since I last posted one. Any recipes with gundruk just makes me go yumm...yes it is and I hope everyone especially who like Gundruk would feel the same. Also, I have heard that in villages or rural areas in Nepal, where lentils are scarce, they tend to have gundruk ko jhol with rice, and again, it is one of the comfort foods which has "gundruk" (dried greens) and soybeans. Again, this is one of my mom's recipes and I hope you will enjoy as well! Makes about 5 servings Gundruk ko Jhol Ingredients Needed Gundruk - 1/2 cup 2 cups water Soybean seeds - 1/3 cup Tomatoes - 1 (diced) Ginger - 1.5 tbsp Green garlic - 2 (diced) Green limes - 1/2 Cumin Powder - 1.5 tbsp Chili powder (optional) for extra spicy Salt and turmeric powder

Badam Sadheko (Roasted Peanuts Salad)

Introduction I am not really a peanut fan by nature and I hate peanut butter, but the recipe I am going to share is pretty tasty than I thought. And, trust me, this is very easy to make and goes with every occasion. Also, it has been one of the quick appetizer to go to for me at least, and I hope you will like it too! Try it and share your experiences. Makes about 4 - 5 servings Badam Sadheko (Roasted Peanuts Salad) Ingredients Needed Raw Peanuts: 1 cup Red onion: 1/3 cup (chopped) Green chilies: 2 (diced) Ginger: 1 tbsp (diced) Garlic: 3-4 cloves (diced) Mustard Oil: 1 tsp Salt and chili powder to taste Optional: Based upon how spicy you like, you can add green chilies and lemon.
